(NFL) Victor Cruz has announced this morning that he is officially retiring from the NFL.
This comes after suffering an devastating knee injury against the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2014, Cruz is finally calling it quits.
Though he was never able to regain his full strength and make a comeback, at least he’s able to retire on his own terms, Cruz will be joining ESPN as a football analyst.
Here’s a quick background on the former New York Giants wide receiver and when he first exploded on to the scene as an unknown undrafted free agent out of UMass with an incredible three touchdown game against the New York Jets.
We all know Cruz’s career didn’t end the way he nor any of us wanted it to, and we will always wonder what could have been had Cruz been healthy for the start of Odell Beckham Jr.’s career.
