(NBA) The Oklahoma City Thunder are nearing a trade with the New York Knicks for Carmelo Anthony. OKC would trade Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott and a 2018 second-round pick via the Chicago Bulls.
Anthony is expected to waive his no-trade clause and the trade will likely be completed Monday.
MELO expanded his list of teams that he would accept a trade. Originally, Anthony was okay with the trade to the Houston Rockets, but with the Rockets essentially emptying their entire cupboard of assets in a trade for Chris Paul over the summer, striking a deal with them for Anthony was nearly impossible.
Earlier in the offseason, the Thunder acquired Paul George from the Indiana Pacers, with Victor Oladipo and other pieces going back to the Pacers in the deal. My gosh the trio is definitely looking to dominate the West. You have Westbrook, PG and Melo on one team… that’s crazy.
Many question comes to mind on how that trio of stars is going to co-exist. I believe OKC will utilize Melo correctly instead of making him a 2 way player like the Knicks tried to. He’s not the greatest defender on the court, yes we all know that. But lets not take away from him being one of the greatest ISO shooters in the league. He’s a scorer, let the man score.
