(The Lyfe News) The Steelers Wide Receiver has terminated Drew Rosenhaus and has recently signed with the hip-hop mogul Jay Z.
Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is calling people out and cutting ties.
A day after quotes appeared in the Tribune-Review regarding ex-Steelers safety Ryan Clark, Brown reportedly fired agent Drew Rosenhaus and was considering joining the Roc Sports group, headed by hip-hop mogul Jay Z.
Roc Sports has Giants receiver Victor Cruz, Colts receiver Hakeem Nicks and Jets quarterback Geno Smith on its roster right now. Smith fell considerably in the 2013 Draft from early projections (Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller called him his “top overall pick” in October of 2012. That tweet has been deleted). Allegations surrounding the Giants calling Nicks a “cancer,” as well as injury concerns and a general lack of productivity in 2013 led Nicks’ market square to the bottom of free agency.
Brown accepted a 5-year, $41.96 million contract in 2012, a deal that included an $8.5 million signing bonus. Given Brown’s production, including a franchise-record 1,499 receiving yards in 2013, the Steelers got a steal.
It’s understandable that Brown wants to align himself with marketing value. I mean who wouldn’t… Brown’s name being associated with Jay Z’s could lead to future opportunities.
