(NFL) The Tennessee Titans have waived QB Tyler Wilson. The Titans had scooped up the second-year Wilson after he was cut by the Oakland Raiders in late 2013. Wilson has yet to see action in an NFL game, and it appears he may never get that chance.
Wilson was picked up in the fourth round by the Raiders just one year after he was projected easily as a first round pick. Dude didn’t even last one season in a quarterback-starved NFL league. Oakland cut Wilson back in November and the Titans snatched him up in December. Now it appears Wilson will have to find a new home, or a new job.
It’s not very likely that a drafted QB wouldn’t be able to land another Job for the second year, but Wilson was that damn horrible in practice. He was beat out by undrafted free agent Matt McGloin last season in Oakland and now it appears the Titans prefer Charlie Whitehurst and Zach Mettenberger as backups to Jake Locker to Wilson.
It’s still early in the preseason for Wilson to be looked at for whatever skills he possesses on the field.
