(In Other Sports) LSU Tigers defensive tackle Davon Godchaux was arrested Monday morning and charged with “domestic abuse battery/child endangerment and false imprisonment.”
Godchaux was released from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison in Louisiana on a $3,000 bond. The police report stated that there were “conflicting stories,” and an alleged victim, the baby mother was also arrested.
Deputies wrote in arrest documents, Godchaux and his girlfriend were fighting over infidelity. The woman said as she tried to leave the apartment with their 10-month-old, Godchaux twice grabbed her – once by her hair and a second time by the shoulder – and tossed her backwards. The unidentified woman said Godchaux refused to let her leave the apartment.
An investigator wrote the woman had a swollen lip and marks near her throat. Godchaux, too, had a cut lip.
This came about just a day after a big mistake that LSU made by firing of longtime head coach Les Miles alongside offensive coordinator Cam Cameron on Sunday.
The school named Ed Orgeron the interim head coach.
