Guard Oliver II Transfers Out Of Clemson

(NCAABB) Clemson guard Anthony Oliver II decides to leave the men’s basketball program.

Tigers coach Brad Brownell announced Oliver’s intentions on Friday.

Oliver is from Birmingham, Alabama, and is the son of Tigers women’s basketball coach Audra Smith who was fired. The redshirt sophomore played 19 games last season for the 22nd-ranked Tigers, who reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

Oliver had a career best nine points against Boston College in an Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament victory last March.

Audra Smith was let go after five seasons leading the women’s program. She is currently the head women’s basketball coach at South Carolina State.
